What to include
None of this is required, and a one line message is fine. But if you already know the answers, including them means the first reply can be useful rather than a list of questions.
- The address of your current site, if there is one
- What the site needs to do that it does not do now
- Whether the content exists, or needs writing
- Anything already tried, including anything that went badly
- If there is a deadline, what it is tied to
What happens next
We read it and reply with either a straight answer or the two or three questions that actually decide the shape of the job. If it turns out we are not the right people, we will say so in the first reply rather than the third.
There is no automated sequence behind this address. Nobody is added to a mailing list, and there is no follow-up unless you asked for one.
If you are asking for a second opinion
That is a legitimate use of this page and it happens more than you would think. If you have a quote for work and want to know whether it is necessary, send the quote and the address of the site. We will tell you which parts we would do, which parts we would not, and why.
We have no stake in the answer being yes.
Hosting and technical problems
If you are already hosted with us and something is broken, say so at the top of the message and include the domain. That gets looked at before anything else.
For a site hosted elsewhere, we can usually tell you what is wrong from the outside, which is often enough for you to take to whoever runs it.
