SEO in Preston #4 – My 94.44% SEOPressor Post
Last time out I was raving about SEOPressor, the plugin that automatically grades the SEO value of wordpress posts on my SEO in Preston blog. Today I’m going to try to get my score to 100%, updating sentence by sentence to check my progress. A quick click of the ‘update’ button and…
As you can see, the first update prompted SEOPressor to tell me that my score was just 21.11% – pretty rubbish – for the keyword SEO in Preston. So the first thing it wants me to do is add a header 1 tag containing my keyword SEO in Preston.
This is my H1 tag containing the keyword SEO in Preston
Well, adding the H1 tag featuring my keyword has made a significant improvement, with the score now up to 46.67%. In addition, SEOPressor has now told me that my keyword density is 1.68% – in a nice green font to let me know that this is good. This really is SEO for dummies!
OK, now SEOPressor is asking me to add H2 and H3 tags containing my keyword, but I’ll do that further down for the sake of aesthetics. So moving on, the plugin is informing me that it will ‘automatically bold my keyword’, but that I ‘do not have enough keywords to italize’. It is generally accepted that having keywords underlined, or in bold or italics helps on-page SEO, so I’ll give it another keyword to ‘italize’ (even though I object to the spelling) elsewhere on the page.
And… update. I’ll make this the header 2 tag containing SEO in Preston to keep SEOPressor happy.
Great – up to 56.67%. Keyword density for SEO in Preston is down slightly so I’ll throw in another SEO in Preston, which now appears underlined AND in italics. Not sure what happened to bold, so I’ll do it manually – SEO in Preston.
Update (and a header 3 tag containing SEO in Preston)
Now we’re motoring, up to 70% and just three more on-page elements to add. Note to self – keep including the keyword SEO in Preston.
Next I have to set an alt tag to my keyword SEO in Preston. I wasn’t sure what this meant but after conferring with a colleague, we figured out that it meant the alt tag on an image. The wording isn’t the clearest here, which is the only criticism I have of SEOPRessor up to now. Anyway, let’s change the alt tag on the image above to include SEO in Preston and see what happens. SEO in Preston!!
Update (and a header 4 tag containing SEO in Preston just for the sake of it.)
81.11% and only two more on-page elements to add. I have to have the keyword SEO in Preston in the first and last sentence – here goes… UPDATE – SEO in Preston.
92.22% – so what’s going wrong?! Looking at the screenshot image above one of the things I’m missing is an internal link to one of my other pages – this has now disappeared… another small glitch in the SEOPressor system? No matter – here’s the about me page for my SEO in Preston blog.
94.44% – and despite some more fiddling behind the scenes I think I’m going to have to settle for that as SEOPressor has no more recommendations! 94% for the term SEO in Preston isn’t what I wanted, but for now it will have to do. I hope Google loves all this SEO in Preston content!
